A Teaching Series on Love, Sex, Dating and Marriage

In a culture where Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke’s disturbing performance on the MTV Video Music Awards last month was streamed 15 million times (and drew 306,100 Twitter comments a minute—twice as many as the presidential election), River Pointe Church takes a proactive step to provide hope, direction and encouragement for families, couples, and singles in Fort Bend County through a new sermon series on love.

“LoveSex" is River Pointe’s new sermon series that takes a significant look at love, dating, marriage and yes, even sex — from a biblical perspective.

For over 16 years, River Pointe has been a safe place for individuals and families to process their doubts about faith and to explore what a relationship with Jesus Christ has to do with their real lives. The series provides a proactive and hopeful voice for Fort Bend County families and the children we are leading and protecting. This uniquely invented word, “LoveSex," is simply a clear reminder of the very purpose and origin of sex.

The series demonstrates that regardless of your relational past or present, through a relationship with Jesus Christ, you are not disqualified from a future full of love, contentment, hope and peace.

Over the next three weeks, the sermon series will explore challenging topics such as healing from sexual trauma, character as the key to long-term attraction, and protecting the innocence of our children in a sexually aggressive culture.

River Pointe Church is a non-denominational church established in 1996 with nearly 5000 members making a difference in people’s lives from Uganda, Africa to Houston, Texas. River Pointe has two physical locations in Richmond, Texas (at 5000 Ransom Road) as well as Missouri City, Texas meeting in Elkins High School (at 7007 Knight’s Court).
